Weekend

October 10th 2008 19:43
Had a bad losing run recently, just don't seem to be getting anything right!

Even bets I am considering go wrong, was a click away from backing india for the 1st test!

I have cut down max bets to 4 needing trebles to get a return, but seem to keep getting blown out in last 10 mins.

Weekend Selections 13th September

September 12th 2008 07:48
Second consecutive winning week last week, so hopefully form is starting to become easier to read, to illustrate my point about not beeting on internationals, a friend of mine was bearting teh fact that Poland had let him down with a draw at the weekend, when I asked if he knew a single Poland player he didnt, you should only bet on what you know!

This week selections split into two, good value sure things, and a slightly more speculative value selections

Set 1

Orient to beat Stockport, good value at evens, Orient seem to be finding their form now, as do Portsmouth who are outstanding value at evens to beat Middlesbrough at home. I know I have been anti before but Leeds look like they are now living up to their reputation, away at swindon tommorrow who look very poor.

Set 2

A busy week for West Ham but I take them to beat West Brom, don't forget the Hammers scored 4 goals last time against Blackburn, whilst the baggies have 1 goal all season, I think the pace of West ham's attack will get them the result. Barnsley & Bristol City both look big prices against average opposition, put these in a patent and 2 up will guarantee a profit.

Weekend Selections 6th September

September 5th 2008 19:27
Albeit a small one a winning return last week, and could have been better with West Brom unlucky not to win at Bolton by all accounts.

I must say I hate international weekends, not only does it seriously cut the betting opportunities the games are generally very dull.

This week there looks some good things in League 2

Luton to beat Macclesfield, Luton getting to grips with this league and Maccsfield look awful, same kind of sentiments for Gillingham who should beat Grimsby.

Bradford are looking good this term and with Thorne and Boulding have a very good strike force, Port Vale are in freefall so they look good for an away win.

Against my better judgement Leeds included this week, they have to get their act together at home and surely they will be to good for Crewe.

Put the selections in 4 trebles and a fourfold

Pre Season Yankees

August 25th 2008 11:56
Apologies for delay since last post, I have been busy but found time to put on my now traditional pre season yankees, record over the years hasnt been to bad but never managed to achieve the holy grail of getting all 4 up.

I have split the yankees into 2, likely and longer shots

Quick Update

July 26th 2008 11:21
Well the golf was a blow out, with none of my selctions ever seriosuly challenging, I added Furyk to my portfolio on Saturday, so got a little run for my money but never really in contention.

A little horse yankee also failed last Saturday, with my fav horse of the season corrborough missing out for the first time this season, it was apparent that 6f was to long and Henry Candy has confirmed he will be back to 5f next time

Catch up on Betting

July 14th 2008 19:06
A quiet time following the euros which by the way was won by the best team.

I have had a small bet on the test series on South Africa to win the series at 6/4, this looked in serious danger on Saturday but now the tide has turned and I fully expect the proteas to take the Headingley test, assuming they pick the right side going for Nel instead of Harris

Euro Semis

June 24th 2008 19:48
Germany at 4/9 may be buying money but it is to short for any risk, I think the double result of draw/Germany is value at 3/1,as I can see Turkey defending with their lives but falling down as they tire.

Spain v Russia a strict form line this is no contest the russians were outclassed two weeks ago by Spain, but look a different team now arshavin is in the side, I would be much more confident if Fabregas was starting, again if you have to bet 11/5 the draw is my recommendation

Now the semis

June 23rd 2008 19:57
The good news is that the starting bet of a Germany v Spain bet is still alive, but my cover bet of Croatia at 8/1 somehow got knocked out by Turkey.

I have no doubt Germany will win through against Turkey and quite easily,Russia though could trip up Spain who might think the hard work is now done

Weekend Review

June 15th 2008 08:35
Apologies for delay since last blog I was severely put out by New Approach winning the Derby, not because of Jim Bolger's will he won't he scenario, but the fact that I had backed New Approach the last two times and he had come up short, I honestly thought he was going backwards after the 2,000 at the Curragh.

Euro 2008 has been good for favourite backers, and I am quite pleased with Podolski at 22/1 to be top scorer, just need Villa to stop scoring now. I have added Croatia at 8/1 to my open bets on the tournament, I see them as certanties for the semi finals, and I have a feeling their eventual opponents Portugal may just come up short
